Poultry operations in PEI are mainly in two categories, broiler production or egg laying operations.  The cost and lack of availability of industry quota has restricted the expansion of the poultry industry in PEI.  The existing poultry producers are continually updating their facilities and equipment and have production facilities comparable with other parts of Canada.
